NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's Sergiu Medesan and Luka Markovic each received MEAC Second Team All-Conference honors for Men's Tennis, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon. This is the second time that Medesan has earned All-Conference honors, and the first for Markovic.
It is also the first time in school-history that the Eagles placed two players on the All-Conference team.
A native of Constanta, Romania, Medesan won seven total matches on the season, recording three singles wins and four victories in doubles play. Medesan won two matches in the second singles flight coming at Villanova and Norfolk State before earning a No. 1 singles victory at George Mason. In doubles action, Medesan teamed with both Markovic and Vansh Kapoor for a pair of wins.
Markovic picked up a pair of singles wins and three doubles victories on the season. A senior from Belgrade, Serbia, Markovic won back-to-back singles matches at George Mason and Howard at the second flight. In doubles play, all three of his wins came in the top slot at Lafayette, Long Island University and Morgan State.
