Women's Tennis was defeated by Delaware State at Home

Baltimore, Md.- The Coppin State women's tennis team fell to Deleware State 7-0 on monday at the Physical Education Complex. The Eagles drop to 0-7 for the season as Del. 
State advanced to 3-2.  

Iva Jankovic and Megan Etienne played in first doubles against the duo of Iris Leder and Daria Jula in a 6-0 loss.  

Lucia Placidi and Christy Turner won two games in number two doubles against Eva Golembiovski and Kit Yi Kaye Au-Young, for a final score of 6-2.  

In singles play, Placidi faced Jula in second singles where she lost the first set 5-2. After trailing 4-2 in the secod set, Placidi went on a 3 game streak and took a 5-4 lead. Jula pulled away and won the set 7-6.  

Turner played in third doubles against Klaudija Liskova in a tight two set match.  Turner had the lead at the start of the first set with 3-2, until Liskova made a run to win the first set 5-4.  In a back and fourth second set, Turner dropped 7-6.  

Jankovic won three games a set in first doubles against Au- Young.   

Mackenzie Jones won two games per set in fifth singles against Baluck Deang.  

Etienne saw action in fourth singles. She won a game in the first set for a 6-1 deficit against Iris Leder, and won three games in the second set, with a score of 6-3.   

Up Next: The Eagles will head to Carney, North Carolina for the MEAC roundup from Thursday, March 17 to Saturday, March 19.
