The matchup was originally scheduled for Monday, January 10 but was postponed for COVID protocols. The winner of the game will stand alone in second place in the MEAC standings.

Randy Miller and Justin Wright lead NCCU offensively, scoring 13.2 points and 11.2 points per game, respectively, while Kris Monroe is just under double figures at 9.9 points per contest. Dontavius King is putting up 8.9 points and a team-high 5.6 rebounds, just ahead of Monroe's 5.4 boards. King averages nearly a block per game while Eric Boone dishes out nearly four assists per game. Wright has been even better in conference games, tallying 19.5 points while shooting an impressive 55.3% from the floor.
