Women's Tennis dropped to Longwood on Wednesday Afternoon

WASHINGTON, D.C.-The Coppin State women's tennis team lost to Longwoog on the road this Wednesday with a final score of 0-7. Coppin falls to a season record of 0-5 while Longwood advances to 1-5.  

Iva Jankovic led the Eagles in singles and totalled five game wins in third singles against Maria Saez. 

Christy Turner and Lucia Placidi each grabbed a pair of wins in their singles matches. Turner faced  Wiktoria Czerny in third singles while Placidi faced Emma Nurgazieva in first singles.  

In fourth singles, Mackenzie Jones won a game in the first set against Alexandra Hincu. Megan Etienne saw action in fifth singles against Nina Hederich.  

Placidi and Jones fell to Nurgazieva and Rizvanova in first doubles at 6-0.  

The Eagles are back in action against George Mason on Sunday, March 6 in Fairfax Virginia.
