Women's Tennis Won Multiple Matches in a 5-2 Loss to Lafayette

ALLENTOWN, Pa.-The Coppin State women's tennis team grabbed the most wins of the season in a loss to Lafayette on the road this Saturday, with a final score of 5-2.  Coppin drops to 0-3, while Lafayette exceeds to 2-1 for the season. 

Kristina Georgieva and Megan Etienne crushed second doubles with a score of 6-1. This marks the second straight win for the duo of Georgieva and Etienne.  

Georgieva had another singles victory in a two set match, with a score of 6-2 in the first set, then dominated the second set 6-0.  

Iva Jankovic won her singles match in a close battle. She handled business in the first set with a score of 6-2. In the second set she was up 4-2, before her opponent went on a two game run to bring out a tiebreaker, where Yankovic lost 7-4. After trailing in the third set tiebreaker, Yankovic made a turnaround and won the set 10-5.    

The Eagles will make a quick turnaround and face James Madison on Sunday, February 20 in Harrisonburg Virginia.
