Miajavon Coleman,
Ashley Roman and
Ahzhi Coleman have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team ®, it was announced by the organization on Tuesday. This is the first time that all three athletes have been recognized by the CSC, formerly known as CoSIDA, and they are the only players in the MEAC to receive the award.
Academic All‐District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All‐America® ballot. First‐, second and third‐team Academic All‐ America® honorees will be announced in late December. To be eligible for award, athletes must have recorded at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and be a key starter or reserve with at least one year of standing at their current institution.
Miajavon Coleman is arguably the best all-around player in Coppin State volleyball history, owning the school-record with 1,733 career kills which is the third-most in MEAC history. A graduate student from San Antonio, Texas, Coleman also has tallied 1,042 digs and 185 career blocks, both of which rank fifth school-history. Coleman is a four-time First Team All-MEAC Selection, was the 2021 MEAC Player of the Year and AVCA All-American and is the only CSU player to record both 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs.
The three-time MEAC Defensive Player of the Year and four-time First Team All-MEAC selection, Roman broke her own school-record with 594 digs while leading the league with 4.68 digs per set. Roman is the Eagles' record holder with 1,921 digs which is the second-most in the history of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. A senior libero from Isabela, Puerto Rico, Roman was a 2020 AVCA All-Region selection, the first in CSU history, and ranks sixth in school history with 93 aces.

Ahzhi Coleman set career-highs in every category this season, recording 153 kills on .253 hitting while tallying 64 blocks at 0.65 blocks per set. Coleman ranked second on the Eagles in hitting percentage, third in blocks per set, fourth in total blocks and fifth in kills after earning MEAC All-Rookie accolades in 2021.
Coppin recorded a school-record 23 victories and nine non-conferences wins this season while winning its second MEAC Regular Season Championship in the last three seasons. The Eagles advanced to the MEAC Championship Game for the third time ever and the second in the last three years.
