BALTIMORE – Coppin State volleyball, the defending MEAC Champions, has unveiled its 2026 season schedule, it was announced by head coach
Tim Walsh on Wednesday afternoon. The Eagles are set to play early-season weekend tournaments at Virginia Tech, Navy, Akron and UConn before starting conference play and hosting local rival Loyola Maryland in their home opener on September 29.
Coming off its third 20-plus win season in the last four years, Coppin opens the season at the Hokie Invitational in Blacksburg, Va., where its face William & Mary and Kent State on Friday, August 28 before battling the Hokies the following afternoon.
The Eagles will make the short trip to Annapolis for Navy's Kristen Dickmann Invitational on September 4-5 to face the Midshipmen on Friday night. Coppin will face a familiar foe in Penn to open the day on Saturday, followed by Stony Brook that evening.
Akron hosts the Eagles for three-straight days on September 10-12 with formidable challenge against Valparaiso, the host Zips and Cleveland State. Coppin heads to the Northeast to close out non-conference play, taking on UConn on September 18 before facing Rhode Island and Merrimack on Saturday.
On the way back home, CSU will go head-to-head against New Haven on Sunday before opening MEAC play with back-to-back road matches against Howard on September 24 and Norfolk State on September 27.
Following its home opener against the Greyhounds on Tuesday night, Coppin heads back South for conference clashes against South Carolina State and NC Central before welcoming Maryland Eastern Shore to PEC Arena on October 9. Two days later, Coppin will head across the Bay Bridge to play Delaware State before playing four-straight home matches, starting with Towson on October 14, followed by Morgan State, Norfolk State and Howard.
After a crosstown trip to UMBC on October 28, Coppin hosts South Carolina State and NC Central and entertains Delaware State for Senior Day on November 8 which is sandwiched by road trips to UMES and Morgan State.
For the second-straight season, Coppin will host the MEAC Tournament with matches slated for Friday-Saturday on November 20-22.
All CSU home matches will be aired lived on ESPN+. Coppin was the first HBCU to stream all of its home basketball and volleyball matches on the ESPN Family of Networks.
