NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's
Anthony Tarke and
Nendah Tarke swept the three MEAC Men's Basketball weekly awards for the second time this season, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.
Anthony Tarke earned both Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week while
Nendah Tarke took home Rookie of the Week honors.

Anthony Tarke averaged 23.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 2.0 blocks and 1.5 steals while shooting an impressive 16-of-25 (64.0%) from the floor in Coppin's back-to-back wins at Delaware State. This is the second time that Tarke, a Lou Henson Award Mid-Season Watch List member, has been named the Player of the Week and the eighth time he received Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Anthony Tarke notched a double-double to open the weekend with 15 points and 15 rebounds on Saturday night against the Hornets while adding five assists, four blocks and a pair of steals.
The following night,
Anthony Tarke erupted for 31 points while making a school-record 11-of-11 shots from the floor, including a pair of threes to match a season-high. Tarke also matched a career high with eight assists. His 11 field goals without a miss are the second most by a NCAA player this season in a single game.
Anthony Tarke leads the MEAC in total points (345), rebounds (8.4), double-doubles (8), steals (56), blocks (40), defensive rebounds (6.7), free throws made (87) and free throw attempts (155). He also ranks second in minutes (35.0), third in points per game (16.4), seventh in assists (3.7), seventh in assist/turnover ratio (1.1) and eighth in field goal percentage (47.4).
Nendah Tarke also put together quite the weekend at Delaware State, averaging 17.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 1.5 blocks while shooting 12-of-22 (54.5%) from the floor. This is his league-high fifth Rookie of the Week award this season.

Nendah Tarke scored a season-high 21 points with three 3-pointers on Saturday night to go with a season-high three blocks and two steals. Tarke followed that up with another 13 points on Sunday while grabbing a season-high nine rebounds and five steals.
For the season,
Nendah Tarke is averaging 9.6 points and 4.7 rebounds while making 50.0% percent of his field goals along with 32 steals, 21 assists and seven blocks. In conference play, Tarke ranks 12
th in the MEAC with 11.8 points per game along with 5.1 rebounds. He also ranks third in the conference with 1.8 steals and sixth with a 50.0 percent shooting percentage.
The Eagles' seeding for the 2021 MEAC Tournament has yet to be determined as they are tied for first in the Northern Division with Norfolk State, recording an 8-4 mark in league play to clinch at least a share of the North Division title. Morgan State is currently 6-4 in the MEAC and is scheduled to play Delaware State on March 4-5.
