Box Score FAIRFAX, Va. – Iva Jankovic picked up a singles victory, but the Coppin State women's tennis team fell at George Mason, 6-1, on Sunday at Mason Tennis Courts.
Jankovic took on GMU's Brianna Gibbs at No. 2 singles and defeated the senior in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4. Earlier in the day, Jankovic and
Christy Turner dropped a 6-2 decision at No. 1 doubles as the Patriots earned the doubles point.
Turner won three games in the first set of her singles flight while
Afruica Gentle picked up three games in her second set at No. 4.
Tinashe Gwaze fell in a tiebreaker during the first set in the sixth position before dropping the second set, 6-2.
The Eagles are set to host Loyola (Md.) on Tuesday, March 16.
