NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's cross country program led the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference with 12 MEAC All-Academic selections, it was announced by the league office on Wednesday morning. The MEAC recognized 67 total student-athletes from the conference's eight institutions who achieved high academic success during the 2020-21 academic year.
Among the CSU student-athletes who received All-Academic honors were

Latifa Ali,
Kimani Alphonse,
Amadou Ba,
Claudina Constantine,
Destinee Mcleod,
Kamillah Monroque,
Abayie Opuni,
Saidai Stuteley,
Shenelle Tomlinson,
Abby Weiss and
Ivan Wiggins.
"We have always stressed the importance of academics and challenge all of our student-athletes at Coppin State to achieve a 3.0 GPA or higher in all of their classes," said head coach
Carl Hicks. "This tremendous honor is a testament to how hard they have worked in the classroom."
MEAC sophomore, junior and senior student-athletes with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average, as well as transfer student-athletes who have been in residence at the institution for at least one year, are eligible for All-Academic accolades.
"I want to congratulate our women's and men's cross country student-athletes for maintaining a 3.0 or better grade point average," MEAC Commissioner Dr. Dennis E. Thomas said. "The ultimate goal is to develop and graduate our student-athletes to be productive citizens in our society."
