BALTIMORE – Coppin State head cross country/track & field coach
Carl Hicks has unveiled the 2026 Cross Country season schedule which is set to open at the University of Delaware on Friday, September 4.
The Eagles will make back-to-back weekend trips to the First State with a meet at MEAC rival Delaware State to follow on September 11. Coppin visits Maryland Eastern Shore the following weekend before taking an extended time off and returning to action on October 10 at the West Chester Golden Ram Open.
In its final tuneup for the MEAC Championship, Coppin will make a quick trip to our Nation's Capital for the Howard Bison Invitational on October 17.
The conference championship is set for Saturday, October 31 at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C.
Coppin should improve on last season's eighth place finish at the MEAC Championships with All-Conference performer
Humed Nura leading the charge on the men's side. Nura won meets at UMES and West Chester last season while adding two more top five finishes before taking 12
th at MEAC's.
Asa Francis, Rashawn Harris, Xavier Grant and W
hisper Shikwa are also slated to return to the fold.
The women's program will feature three of their top five finishers from last year, including
Kyah La Fortune, Danielle Wooten and
Chase Cineas.
