LANDOVER, Md. – Tatiana Ogundeko broke her own school-record and took second place in the Mile to lead the Coppin State women's track & field team to a ninth place finish at MEAC Indoor Championships this weekend at the Prince George's Sports & Learning Complex.
A senior from Waldorf, Md., Ogundeko clocked a 5:00.84 in the Mile to take the silver, besting her own school-record by over two seconds. To wrap up the Championship, Ogundeko anchored the 4x400m Relay to a bronze medal in 3:49.38, following
Jasmine Henery,
Cathryn Lane and
Destinee Mcleod.
Earlier in the day, Henery ran the fourth-fastest time in CSU history in the 400m dash, taking fourth overall in 55.89. Henery also clock a 25.47 in the 200m dash.
Alanna Newby also reached the podium for the Eagles as she took the bronze in the shot put with a toss of 43' 8.0", just missing her own school-record.
Also competing for Coppin were
Latifa Ali, who took 12
th in the 60m dash (7.76), and
Tre'J Johnson, who took 12
th in the triple jump (37' 5.25").
