Medley-Bacon Wins Fourth MEAC Defensive Player of the Week Award This Season

NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's Brendan Medley-Bacon has been named the MEAC Co-Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.  This is Medley-Bacon's fifth weekly honor (fourth defensive) from the MEAC this season and he shares the honor with North Carolina Central's Jibri Blount.
 
A sophomore from Baltimore, Md., Medley-Bacon notched a double-double 16 points and 13 rebounds to go with four assists and five blocks in Coppin's 98-86 victory over Delaware State on Saturday.
 
For the season, Medley-Bacon is averaging 7.0 points while leading the Eagles with 8.8 rebounds and a league-high 60 blocked shots.  In league play, the 7-foot-1 center is putting up 10.4 points while leading the MEAC with 12.8 rebounds, 10.0 defensive rebounds and 41 blocks.  Medley-Bacon is shooting 51.5% from the floor in conference games.
