Ogundeko Leads Way for Women’s Track & Field at Scarlet & White Invite

BOSTON, Mass. – Coppin State's Tatiana Ogundeko ran the second fastest 800m time in the MEAC this season with a mark of 2:11.05 on Saturday afternoon at the Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White Invitational held at Boston University's Track & Tennis Center.  Ogundeko's time is the also the second-fastest in school history.
 
A senior from Waldorf, Md., Ogundeko also anchored the 4x400m Relay team to a season-best time of 3:50.07.  Running the first three legs of the relay were Cathryn Lane, Destinee McLeod and Claudina Constantine.
 
Lane and McLeod doubled up in the 400m dash with times of 58.60 and 59.28, respectively.  Constantine competed in the 800m Run and clocked a 2:15.70.
 
Leading the Eagles in the 400m dash was Jasmine Henery who finished in 56.60.  Janee Quailes also ran the event in 1:01.55.
 
In field events, Tre'J Johnson finished second in the long jump (18' 2.25") while running a personal-best in the 200m dash (25.49).
 
Alanna Newby threw the shot put a CSU indoor school-record 43' 9.75" to take seventh overall.  Her personal record sits fourth in the MEAC this season.
 
The Eagles return to the track at the Albany Invitational on Friday, February 7 at the Ocean Breeze Sports Complex in Staten Island, N.Y.
