Box Score WASHINGTON, D.C. – Coppin State's women's tennis team dropped a 4-1 match at George Washington University on Tuesday afternoon at the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center (SETLC).
Brittanie Cahua and
Ajla Hrnjic dropped their match at No. 1 doubles, 6-1 as the Colonials earned the doubles point.
Shariah Dunwell and
Tinashe Gwaze played together in the second doubles flight while
Megan Etienne and
Mackenzie Jones combined at the third position.
George Washington clinched the match with victories at Nos. 1, 2 and 4 singles. Dunwell took a 6-0, 6-1 loss in the No. 1 spot while Cahua fell in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0 in the second flight. Hrnjic was blanked in both sets at No. 4.
Gwaze held her own at No. 3 singles, winning three games in her two sets but the match went unfinished. Etienne trailed, 6-1, 4-1 in the fifth slot when the match was clinched.
Jones earned a victory by default at No. 6 singles.
CSU returns to the court on Sunday, February 2 at Lafayette.
