GREENSBORO, N.C. – Behind school-records by
Tatiana Ogundeko and
Randi Bohler, the Coppin State women's track & field team finished ninth at the 2019 MEAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships this weekend at the Irwin Belk Track.
In the final day of competition, Ogundeko captured the bronze in the 1,500m Run, clocking a 4:34.11. Her time broke a 26-year-old school record of 4:35.19, held by Hall of Famer
Diana Pitts. Later in the day, Ogundeko completed a brutal double by finishing sixth in the 800m Run in 2:16.59.
Bohler's school-record came in the 100m hurdles with a seventh place finish in 13.93. She became the first Eagles runner to run a sub-14 second mark in the 100m hurdles, besting
Alexis Easterling's mark of 14.05.
Bohler also led off the 4x100m dash to a season-best time of 47.37 from the first heat, taking seventh overall.
To close out the day, the 4x400m Relay of
Cathryn Lane, Janee Quailes, Ivonna Hoskins and Ogundeko finished fifth in a time of 3:50.55.
