Women’s Sprint Medley Relay Earns Bronze at Penn Relays; 4x400 Relay Qualifies for Saturday's Final

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Coppin State women's track & field team saw the Sprint Medley Relay take the bronze and narrowly miss on a 25-year-old school-record while the 4x400m Relay qualified for Championship Saturday at the historic Penn Relays on a rainy Friday afternoon at Franklin Field.
 
Earning the bronze medal, the sprint medley relay of Ivonna Hoskins, Cathryn Lane, Janee Quailes and Tatiana Ogundeko clocked a 4:01.96.  This time missed a school-record by just 26-hundredths of a second which was set back in 1994.
 
The 4x400m Relay of Lane, Quailes, Hoskins and Ogundeko took 26th overall in 3:48.12.  Their time qualified them for the Eastern College Final which runs at 5:25 pm on Saturday, April 27.
 
Alanna Newby also finished 24th in the shot put (42-9.25) while Randi Bohler took 28th in the long jump (16-10.50).
