Box Score BEL AIR, Md. – Coppin State's women's tennis team bested Harford Community College, 5-2 on Saturday afternoon.
The Eagles earned the doubles point by taking two of three matches in the Nos. 1 and 3 flights.
Brittanie Cahua and
Tinashe Gwaze won their match, 6-3, in the top spot while
Precious Udofe and
Shariah Dunwell blanked their opponents at No. 3.
Olivia Wallace and
Ajla Hrnjic were edged, 6-4, in the second position.
Cahua, Dunwell, Udofe and Hrnjic earned singles victories at their respective spots to seal the victory for CSU. Cahua earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 2 while Udofe and Hrnjic won in straight sets in the fifth and sixth singles spots. After falling in the first set, Dunwell rallied to win the next two sets, 6-0, 6-4 at No. 3.
Next up for Coppin State (1-2) is a match against Hofstra at 1 pm on Tuesday, March 19 at CSU Tennis Courts.
