Koby Thomas Repeats as MEAC Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week

NORFOLK, Va. – For the second-straight week, Coppin State's Koby Thomas has been named the MEAC Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon. 
 
A junior from Philadelphia, Pa., Thomas averaged 11.0 points and 11.0 rebounds with a pair of double doubles as the Eagles battled Davidson College and UMBC on the road.  They were the first two double-doubles for Thomas in a CSU uniform, and the sixth and seventh double-double of his collegiate career.
 
At Davidson, Thomas recorded 12 points and 12 rebounds followed by a ten-point, ten rebound effort against the Retrievers.  Thomas also added a block and a steal at UMBC.
 
For the season, Thomas has put up 10.0 points and a team-high 7.1 rebounds per game.  Thomas is also third on the Eagles with 13 steals while adding three blocks.
