  • Koby Thomas pitched in with eight points and ten rebounds and Brendan Medley-Bacon added six points and eight rebounds.
  • Coppin shot 52.6% from the floor in the second half and outshot JMU, 45.7% to 36.4% as the Dukes shot just 24.2% from the floor and 0-of-15 from deep in the second half.  JMU made 10-of-22 3-pointers in the first half and got 28 points from Matt Lewis and 24 from Darius Banks.
  • Coppin held a slim 50-49 advantage on the boards and forced the Dukes into 17 turnovers which turned into 20 points.
  • Coppin's 94 points are the second-most points scored under head coach Juan Dixon.

How it Happened
  • Trailing by as many as 13 in the first half, Coppin used a 16-4 run to cut the deficit to a single point with 6:58 to play.
  • JMU built the lead back up to nine, but a buzzer-beater by Reggie James just inside the 3-point line made it just a 46-42 deficit at the break.
  • The momentum of James' jumper carried into the second half as Coppin regained the lead on a three-point play by Koby Thomas with 16:49 remaining.
  • With 13:43 remaining, the Dukes caught up and extended their advantage to 59-55, but Coppin went on a 17-2 run over the next 6:32 to open a double-digit lead at 72-61 with 7:11 remaining.
  • Nigel Marshall came up big during the first half of the run with seven of the team's first seven points.  Brendan Medley-Bacon made an easy layup and after two free throws from Kamar McKnight, Aaron Robinson started to heat up with a three to cap off the run.
  • JMU's Matt Lewis stopped the bleeding with two free throws but Aaron Robinson hit another three on the next possession.  Lewis hit another two from the stripe, but once again, Aaron Robinson answered with a three to make it an 81-68 score with 4:08 remaining.
  • Coppin extended its lead to as many as 91-72 with 1:32 remaining on a layup by Andrew Robinson.

Up Next: Coppin will look to win its third-straight game as it travels across country to face the University of Montana on Friday, November 29 in a 9 pm (ET) tipoff.
