COLLEGE PARK, Md. – For the second-straight day, the Coppin State women's tennis team traveled to the nearby JTCC for the Bedford Cup to compete against several of the top schools in the Mid-Atlantic Region.
In consolation singles action,
Tinashe Gwaze and
Brittanie Cahua took four games apiece in their straight set defeats to competitors from Virginia Tech and Towson.
Shariah Dunwell also took a game from her opponent from George Washington University.
Cahua and Gwaze teamed up to take a game in doubles play as well, falling 6-1 to Goodson/De Santis from Georgetown University.
Precious Udofe and
Ajla Hrnjic fell, 6-0, to the duo of Mesmer/Gillas from Virginia Tech.
Coppin State returns to action on September 29 when it travels to take on Bowie State in the Eagles' first head-to-head match of the season.
