Women’s Tennis Falls Against Top Competition in Season-Opening Bedford Cup

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Coppin State women's tennis' Tinashe Gwaze had a strong showing in the season-opening Bedford Cup on Friday at the JTCC.  Despite a 6-1, 6-2 loss in singles play, Gwaze also paired with Brittanie Cahua and took a pair of games in doubles action against Maryland's Anastasia Gevel and Zoe Kulkarni.
 
Cahua and Shariah Dunwell were matched up against the top two seeds in singles play, respectively, and both fell in their singles matches. 
 
Also in doubles competition, CSU's Ajla Hrnjic and Precious Udofe dropped a 6-0 decision to the top-ranked duo of Maria Siopacha and Melissa Bayraktaroglu of George Washington University.
