VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Coppin State women's tennis team fell at MEAC rival Hampton, 4-0, on Sunday afternoon at Virginia Beach Tennis & Country Club.
Hampton blanked the Eagles in both doubles matches to collect the point going into singles play. The Pirates also earned wins in Nos. 1, 3, and 6, to earn the win.
Tinashe Gwaze took a 6-0, 6-0 loss in the first slot while
Precious Udofe took just one game at No. 3. Hampton took the sixth position by default.
Ajla Hrnjic won a pair of games in a first set loss and was tied at one in the second before Hampton earned the deciding point.
CSU returns to the court on Monday, April 16 for a 1 pm start at Norfolk State.
