Cahua Picks up Pair of Victories in Women’s Tennis Loss at La Salle

BALTIMORE, Md. – Coppin State's Brittanie Cahua picked up a victory at No. 1 singles and teamed with Tinashe Gwaze for a doubles win but the Coppin State women's tennis team fell to La Salle, 6-1 on Thursday afternoon.

Cahua and Gwaze defeated the Explorers top duo, 6-2, and Cahua bounced La Salle's Jade Smith, 7-6 (8-6), 6-1 in the top singles position.

La Salle blanked the Eagles in the second and third doubles spots to take the point going into singles play. Ajla Hrnjic won a pair of games in both of her sets in the fourth position while Shariah Dunwell and Precious Udofe both took three games in their straight set losses.

Coppin returns to action at 2 pm on Saturday, March 31 at Rider.
