NORFOLK, Va. – For the second time this season, Coppin State's
Cedric Council has been named the MEAC Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office Wednesday afternoon.
A native of Kennesaw, Ga., Council grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds to go with a block and career-high three steals at 20
th-ranked Houston on Sunday afternoon. Council also scored a team-high nine points against the Cougars, finishing a point shy of a double-double.
This season, Council is averaging 5.4 points to go with a team-high 4.8 rebounds and 15 blocked shots in 14 games.
