GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Seniors
Michael James and
Ronaldo Ball both set personal best records at the Florida Relays on Friday, March 31
st at the Percy Beard Track. Coppin State's 4x200 meter relay team excelled by setting a new school record in the event.
After their third outdoor meet of the 2017 season, Coppin State men's track and field has 12 top-10 rankings on the MEAC outdoor performance list. James, Ball and the men's 4x400 meter relay team climbed the list with great performances over the weekend.
Michael James set a new personal record in the men's 800 meter run at 1:49.16 placing 15
th in the event. James has the top time in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) in the 800 meters while ranking 27
th in the nation.
Ronaldo Ball ran a new personal record with a time of 3:54.18 competing in the men's 1500 meter run at the Percy Beard Track. Ball has the second fastest time in the event amongst the conference. Junior
Mark London was 56
th in the 800m event (1:55.48) and senior
Alaric Coker was 58
th (1:56.05). London's time ranks 15
th in the conference.
Freshman
Joseph Amoah and senior
Haysean Cowie-Clarke ran the Eagles fastest times in the men's 100 meter dash of the season. Amoah placed 35
th with a time of 10.60 recording the 9
th fastest time in the conference and ranks 53
rd in the nation. Cowie-Clarke was 46
th with a time of 10.70. Amoah continued his success in the men's 200 meter open placing eighth out of 58 runners.
Coppin State's 4x200 meter relay team posted a new school outdoor record. The team of freshman

Haysean Cowie-Clarke clocked in at 1:24.88 beating the previous record of 1:25.21 ran back in the 2014 season. Three of four Coppin State relay teams set the fastest team times of the season in their events at the Florida Relays.

th with a time of 3:13.02. Their time ranks second in the MEAC. The men's 4x800 meter relay team of Coker,
Ronaldo Ball,
Mark London and James placed sixth with a time of 7:31.94. CSU's 4x200 meter relay team placed 12
th with a time of 1:24.88.
Sophomore thrower
Steven Thomas finished 20
th in the shot put (14.43m) and 22
nd in the hammer (45.52m) events.
Coppin State men's track and field team heads to Fairfax, VA for their next meet on Saturday, April 8
th at the George Mason Spring Invitational.
