NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's Elijah Williams has been named the MEAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon.  This is the first weekly award that Williams has received in his collegiate career.

A freshman from Smyrna, Del., Williams made his collegiate outdoor debut and won both the 110m hurdles and high jump at last weekend's Fred Hardy Invitational.  Williams cleared 2.00m (6' 6.75") in the high jump and also clocked a 14.46 in the hurdles.  His mark in the high jump currently ranks third in the MEAC while his time in the 110m hurdles is the second-fastest in the conference.

Williams' marks are also among the best all-time in CSU history, ranking third in 110m hurdles and fourth in the high jump.

The Eagles are scheduled to compete at the Raleigh Relays, hosted by NC State on March 26-28.  All three days will be televised on ACCNX.
