Mark London were named the Coppin State men's cross-country award winners during the 2016 Eagles Award Banquet on May 10. Coker won the unsung award, Ball claimed most improved and London was named most valuable player.
They helped Coppin State finish in the top five at every meet they competed in, including a fourth place finish at the Mid-Eastern Athletic (MEAC) Championships. London, an All-MEAC selection, completed the season with four top 10 finishes and placed 15th overall at the MEAC Championships. Ball finished the season placing in the top 10 four times.
London earned an All-MEAC selection for the second consecutive season. London ran his second best eight-kilometer time of the season at the MEAC Championships and the fastest in his career at Delaware State's Outreach Center. He finished second at the UMES Lid-Lifter meet on September 5.
Ball and London were CSU's leaders throughout the season. Ball also completed the season with four top 10 finishes to his name. Ball churned out a top 20 finish at the MEAC Championships. In addition to his performance at the MEAC Championship meet, he was the Eagles' fastest runner at the DSU Farm Run on Oct. 8 and DSU Invitational on Oct. 17.
Coker competed well all season long, saving his best work for when it mattered most. Coker ran to a top 20 finish in the MEAC Championships, one spot behind Ball, finishing with a season best time of (27:18.80) respectively.
