BALTIMORE, Md. - After competing in the 2016 National Veteran Golden Age Games held in Detroit, Michigan former Coppin State athletics staff member Thomas "Hollywood" Henderson captured three medals including gold in the men's 100 meter run.

After two days of intense competition he brought home three medals in the sport of track and field. He took silver in both the 200 meter and 400 meter events, but won the 100 meter dash for the 65-69 year-old age group. "As the saying goes…Running is my happy place," said Henderson. Next up for "Hollywood" is the 2016 Maryland Senior Olympics on August 13-14 at the Howard County Community College in Columbia. On Saturday, August 13
th he will participate in the 100 meter dash beginning at 1:30 p.m. and then the javelin throw taking place at 2 p.m. Sunday will feature Henderson running for gold in the 200 meter dash slated for 12:30 p.m. Please come out and cheer him on!
