Bryant Miranda and
Erik Crossman both logged two hits in a doubleheader against Hofstra University of Saturday March 5. Coppin dropped both games, 17-4 in game one and 17-0 in game two.

John O'Dwyer singled to the left side to get things started for the blue and gold in the bottom of the third inning in game one of the doubleheader.

In the next inning, infielder
Bryant Miranda singled up the middle for the Eagles second hit of the game. Coppin State added two runs on scores by Miranda and senior
Darien Percell.

In the fifth inning, the Eagles scored another two runs with infielder Erick Crossman leading off with a single to center field and outfielder
John Kraft singling to the pitcher. Miranda and outfielder
George Dragon picking up RBI's.

The Hofstra Pride scored 17 runs on 17 hits. The Pride score one run in the second inning, eight runs in the fourth inning, one run in the seventh and eighth innings and five runs in the ninth inning.

Krystian Negron was issued the loss after pitching 4.0 innings, striking out one and giving up nine hits. Freshman
Devin Rivera Ozuna also pitched 4.0 innings, striking out four and surrendering three hits.

In the second game of the doubleheader
Erik Crossman,
Bryant Miranda,
Jamar Criss and
Carlos Alviarez all registered hits for Coppin State. Miranda singled up the middle in the first inning.

Erik Crossman singled in the bottom of the third inning. In the final inning outfielder
Carlos Alviarez singled up the middle for the Eagles' fourth hit of the game.

Hofstra scored 17 runs on 13 hits to complete the Saturday sweep of the Eagles. They had two runs in the first inning, four runs in the fourth inning, five runs in the fifth inning, three runs in the sixth inning and three runs in the seventh inning.

Pitcher Andre O'Dwyer picked up the loss for CSU after tossing 4.1 innings and striking out three batters.

Coppin State and Hofstra will finish their weekend series with a single game scheduled for Sunday March 6 at 3:00 p.m. at Harford Community College in Bel Air, MD.Â
