BALTIMORE- Junior infielder
Bryant Miranda led the Eagles with four hits and two RBIs in Coppin State's doubleheader against Delaware State Saturday, March 26 at Joe Cannon Stadium.

In the opening game, the Eagles tallied 10 hits and scored six runs against the Hornets.

Senior outfielder
John Kraft and freshman designated hitter Nazier McIlwain both recorded multi-hit games.
Â
The Hornets scored one run in the second inning and added three more runs in the top of the fourth inning to take an early 4-0 lead.

Freshman infielder got things started for the Eagles with a single to left field in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Kraft followed with a single up the middle to center field for one of his two hits.
Â
Nazier McIlwain then stepped up a blasted a RBI double to left field bringing home Crossman.

Senior
George Dragon then hit a sacrifice fly into center field scoring Kraft, cutting the Hornet lead down to, 4-2.

Delaware State scored three more run in the top of the sixth inning pushing it's lead to 7-2.

The Eagles would answer back with one run on four hits in the bottom of the sixth inning.

McIlwain led off with a single to right field for his second hit of the game. Freshman infielder
Jamar Criss belted a single to left field for Coppin State's second hit of the inning.

Malik White then singled to the shortstop advancing both McIlwain and Criss.

Colin Dower nailed a RBI single into center field sending home McIlwain for the Eagles third score.

Coppin State put together a furious comeback in the bottom of the seventh inning, scoring three runs.

John Kraft was walked to begin the inning and advanced to second base on a passed ball.

McIlwain was walked in the following at bat.

Bryant Miranda knocked a RBI single to the pitcher bringing home Kraft.
McIlwain would later score on a passed ball and Miranda scored on a fielding error by the shortstop.

Delaware State closed the game by scoring one run in the eight inning and six runs in the ninth inning.

Aaron Rea pitched six innings for the Eagles striking out nine Hornet batters.

Delaware State defeated Coppin State in game one, 14-6.

Jahmon Taylor went 2.2 innings and struck out four batters.

The Eagles dropped the final game to the Hornets, 15-5.

Coppin State will return to action Wednesday, March 30 when the host the visiting Hoya of Georgetown University. The game will begin at 3:00 p.m. at Joe Cannon Stadium.Â
