ATLANTA – Coppin State scored four runs in the eighth inning against Georgia State, but their late run was not enough in a 22-4 road loss on Friday, February 26
th.
The Eagles had a productive eighth inning in their first road series of the season.
Ryan Palardy singled up the middle to get things going after the first two batters of the inning were walked. With the bases full of Eagles senior infielder
Colin Dower singled through the left side for an RBI that scored freshmen outfielder
Carlos Alviarez.
The next batter for CSU, freshmen infielder
Erik Crossman hit an RBI single to center field bringing home senior outfielder
Clinton Arnold for a 22-2, score. With the momentum senior outfielder
John Kraft followed with an RBI on a fielder's choice as junior catcher
Ryan Palardy crossed home plate. The Eagles final run of the inning came off an RBI single by sophomore infielder

Georgia State dominated the game with 19 hits to Coppin State's eight. The Panthers scored three runs in the second inning, nine in the third inning, one run in the sixth, and four in the seventh inning.

Bryant Miranda each had two hits apiece.
George Dragon had the Eagles only double base hit anchoring the offense. On the mound pitcher
Andrew O'Dwyer went 2.2 innings while
Desean Rabb struck out three batters in 1.1 innings pitched.
Myles Taylor had one strikeout while
Jahmon Taylor closed the game tossing one inning allowing no runs and no hits.
The Eagles and the Panthers will continue their weekend series on Saturday with a doubleheader scheduled for 1 p.m.
