Coppin State Plays at Towson on Saturday

•    Red-shirt junior guard Genesis Lucas tied a career-high scoring night with 22 points in a 54-48 loss on the road to Mount St. Mary's on Wednesday. The Eagles tied a season-high with four made three-pointers, 18 made free-throws to go along with 29 attempts at the line. Junior center Oluwaseun Adeniji grabbed a career-best ten rebounds and dished out three assists. Red shirt senior forward Tiara Goode also grabbed a season-high ten rebounds as CSU.
•    The Eagles have opened the season with six straight defeats, Coppin State's worst start to a season since 2008-09, when the Eagles began the season 0-9 but finished strong in MEAC play finishing 12-4 in league play and reached the Women's National Invitational Tournament.
•    Coppin State ranks second in the MEAC in free-throws attempted (82) and fourth in free-throws made (73). Individually, freshman center Chance Graham ranks third in the league in free-throws attempted (31) and sixth in rebounds per game (7.7).

UP NEXT
The Eagles conclude the non-conference portion of their season with six road games beginning with Towson on Saturday, Dec. 3 (5:30 p.m. ET). After the Tigers, the Eagles head to #21 Syracuse (4-3) on Wednesday, Dec 7 (11 a.m. ET) and then to #16 Miami (5-1) for a Holiday Tournament on Dec. 19-20 in Coral Gables where they will play their second game of the tournament against either Maine or Tennessee State. After the holiday break Coppin State takes on North Carolina on Dec. 28 and then UMBC on Dec. 31.

Genesis Lucas tied her career-high with 22 points and six rebounds in a 54-48 loss to Mount St. Mary's in Knott Arena. Lucas carried the load in the first half with six points on a pair of made three-pointers. Vanessa Neal added four points and Chance Graham scored four points off of the Eagles bench. Coppin State only made five shots in the opening half but defensively held the Mount to seven shots and only two free-throws. The Eagles went into halftime trailing by only six points (20-14). The Eagles played well in the second half outrebounding the Mount 22-17. Lucas exploded in the fourth quarter with 12 points attempting to bring the Eagles back. She was aggressive in the paint knocking down 7-of-9 free-throws.

ABOUT THE TIGERS
Towson (5-1) suffered their first loss of the season in their last game at home to Georgetown (75-59) on Wednesday. The Tigers have a pair averaging in double figure scoring led by Raven Bankston's 21.3 ppg. Bankston ranks fourth in the nation in steals per game (4.17) and sixth in total steals (25). She is 16th in points per game and 30th in field goals made (48). Sianni Martin is second on the team with 14.7 ppg.
