Women’s Hoops to Host Tennessee Lady Vols on November 5, 2026

BALTIMORE – Coppin State's women's basketball team will host eight-time National Champions, the University of Tennessee on November 5, 2026, it was announced by head coach Darrell Mosley on Thursday morning.  This will be the sixth-straight season that the Eagles have hosted a Power Conference team dating back to the 2021-22 season.
 
This will be the just the second time that Coppin has played the Volunteers, with the first meeting coming this past season on November 23, 2025.
 
Over the past five seasons, the Eagles have also hosted Maryland (2021-22), Pitt (2022-23), LSU (2023-24), Arizona State (2024-25) and South Carolina (2025-26). 
 
Tennessee, coached by Kim Caldwell, who is entering her third season at the helm of the Lady Vols, finished 16-14 and qualified for the NCAA Tournament this past season. The Volunteers have reached the Tournament every season that the NCAA has sanctioned women's sports and feature several players from the DMV along with former Maryland standout Kaylene Smikle.
 
The Eagles finished 10-23 last season while advancing to the MEAC Semifinals after being picked sixth in the Preseason Poll. Shanaii Gamble leads a handful of returners after averaging a team-high 7.2 rebounds last season to go with 6.3 points and 41 steals.
