HAMPTON, Va. – The Coppin State softball team dropped a 6-2 decision to Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) rival Hampton Saturday afternoon at the Lady Pirates Stadium.
The two teams were scheduled to play a doubleheader but due to inclement weather they were limited to a single game.
Senior
Candice Van Horn led the Eagles (3-28 overall, 3-10 MEAC) with a single and double. She recorded her eighth multi-hit game of the season and 28th of her career. She leads the team with a .385 batting average.
Junior
Lauren Rogers and sophomore
Taylor Haller posted two hits apiece in the game. Junior
Kimberlynn Brown also had a hit.
Due to the schedule changes, Coppin State and Hampton (16-22, 8-4) will play two games Sunday beginning at noon.
