Danielle Smith stretched her career-best hitting streak to 14 games during a 3-2 and 7-1 doubleheader setback to Delaware Tuesday afternoon at the UD Softball Stadium.
The Eagles (3-24 overall, 3-6 MEAC) were paced by Smith with four hits. She posted her ninth multi-hit game of the season and has batted .320 or better through the last six games. Smith has a .363 overall batting average.

Candice Van Horn crossed home plate.
Van Horn also had two hits on the day, both were doubles. It was her seventh multi-hit game of the season and 27th of her career. She leads the team with a .403 batting average.
Sophomore
Ellie Vogel and Van Horn each pitched a game for the Eagles, combining to toss seven scoreless innings.
Coppin State returns to enjoy the comforts of home, hosting Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) foe and the Northern Division's second-place Norfolk State. Thursday's doubleheader will begin at 2:00 p.m. followed by a single game on Friday at noon.
