BALTIMORE –
Ryan Davis has joined the Coppin State baseball staff as an assistant coach.
A native of Pacoima, California, Davis will serve as Coppin State's outfielder's coach while assisting Coach Gregory Beckman with the pitching program.
Davis brings tremendous knowledge to the Eagles as he is a former professional baseball player as he played in the Pecos, United and Arizona Freedom Independent Leagues. While attending Los Angeles City College, Davis was an All-South Coast Conference award recipient and a Junior College Elite Showcase Invitee.
In addition to his playing career, Davis has coached at Grant High School in Van Nuys Ca, as the Varsity Hitting Coach and Panorama High School as the head varsity baseball coach. Davis had success at Panorama where he led the team to the semifinal playoffs in his first season. It was the second time in program history that Panorama had ever been to the semifinals and the third time the Program ever made playoffs.
Davis worked as an Instructor for Reggie Smith @ Reggie Smith Athletics and is the founder/resident of 3 Wishes Baseball Academy, a non-profit organization that provides baseball training for youth ages 6-12 and holds collegiate camps for high school and junior college athletes.
Davis earned a BA degree from Patten University in liberal studies and a MA from Concordia University of Irvine in coaching and athletic administration. At Patten University, Davis earned Dean's List recognition.
