HANOVER, Md. – Coppin State's baseball team fell in the second game of its NEC series to Delaware State, 16-3, on Friday afternoon at Joe Cannon Stadium. The Eagles now stand at 11-36 overall and 11-21 in the NEC while the Hornets moved to 7-41 on the year and 7-25 in league play.
Emily Feliciano and
Terrell Milliner accounted for half of the team's eight hits, recording a pair apiece while driving in a run each.
Noah Hogan also drove in a run for the Eagles on a sacrifice bunt.
Dillon Kirksey was charged with seven earned runs on nine hits while throwing 5.0 innings in the start.
Jake Cumming fanned four batters in his 1.2 innings while allowing five runs.

Mekenna Wakakuwa struck out a batter while giving up two hits and a walk.
After an efficient first inning, Delaware State struck for six runs in the second and scored two more in both the third and fourth innings to take a 10-0 lead. Feliciano put Coppin on the board with an RBI single in the fifth, which the Hornets got back in its half of the sixth.
Armando (AJ) Hurtado doubled to lead off the bottom of the sixth and got to third following a single by
Angel Garcia and
Pedro Agosto's free pass. Hurtado was forced out at home on a fielder's choice before Milliner laced a single through the left size for an RBI. Hogan laid down a bunt to third which easily scored Agosto.
The Hornets tacked on five runs in the seventh and Coppin managed just a Feliciano single in the bottom half of the inning.
Coppin wraps up the season when it hosts Delaware State in a 1 pm start on Saturday, May 16 at Joe Cannon Stadium. Prior to the game, the Eagles will recognize seniors
Elijah Charlot, Marcus Sanders, Pranav Sunday, Luke Corcoran, Bryce Thompson and
Justin Ritz.
