Amber Griffin is the second straight Coppin State women's basketball player to earn the MEAC's highest weekly honor. Teammate Omaah Tayong won the award last week. Griffin was this week's recipient following a career-high 21 point performance in helping Coppin State defeat Mount St. Mary's, 66-55. Sunday afternoon.

Griffin shot 88-percent (8-of-9) from the floor, including a perfect 3-of-3 from the free-throw line. She added five rebounds, one assist and one steal in 36 minutes of play.

She scored seven straight points in the second quarter and then in the third quarter, she started an 8-0 Coppin State burst by making two three pointers on consecutive possessions that gave the Lady Eagles the lead for good.

For her career, Griffin has scored in double figures 19 times, including her last three games. She has 305 assists, which is third all-time in program history. She is 22 assists shy from passing Shalamar Oakley's total of 326 and into second place all-time.
