NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State women's volleyball junior outside hitter
Deviana Walker was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Volleyball Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
For the week, Walker totaled 24 kills while hitting a combined .571 in Coppin State's victories over Howard and Norfolk State. Both of these totals lead the MEAC after the opening weekend of conference play.
Walker opened the week against Howard, recording nine kills on 16 attacks while hitting .500. She also added two blocks and finished with 10 points as the Eagles earned a 3-0 victory.
Walker followed that performance with a match-high 15 kills against Norfolk State, hitting .625 for the match as Coppin State completed another 3-0 sweep.
The honor adds to an impressive 2026 campaign for the Odenton, Md. native, who was named Coppin State's Newcomer of the Year in 2025.
Coppin (10-5) is set to host Loyola Maryland for its home opener at 6pm on Tuesday, September 29 on the MEAC Network.
