NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's
Solomon Hammond was named the MEAC Track Athlete of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon. This is the first time this season that Hammond has received a weekly award from the MEAC.
A senior from Accra, Ghana, Hammond won the 60m dash at the HBCU Showcase in a time of 6.67, which is the fastest in the MEAC this season and 28
th nationally. Hammond also took second in the 200m dash at 21.30. which ranks fourth in the MEAC this season.
Hammond and the Eagles return to the track on January 30-31 at the Penn State National Open.
