NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's
Kyle Gary-Grayson and
Shanaii Gamble have earned MEAC Women's Basketball weekly honors, it was announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. Gary-Grayson received the Rookie of the Week award while Gamble was named Defensive Player of the Week.
In last week's game at George Washington, Gary-Grayson scored a team and season-high 16 points on 5-of-9 shooting while making all three of her 3-pointers. A freshman from West Orange, N.J., Gary-Grayson added two rebounds and two steals.
Gamble led all players with eight rebounds and added a block and four steals. A sophomore from Florida City, Fla., Gamble is averaging 6.1 points and 5.1 rebounds this season.
CSU opens MEAC play on Saturday, January 3 at Delaware State, starting at 2 pm on ESPN+.
