WASHINGTON, D.C. – Noxroy Wright and
Alexander Dobson-Honablue won events to lead the Coppin State men's track & field team at the Howard/Gallaudet Bison Classic on Saturday.
Wright won the 400m dash in 48.51 while Dobson-Honablue threw the javelin 138' 11" to win the gold in their respective events. Dobson-Honablue also competed in the 400m dash and clocked 51.11, just ahead of
Cole Schlotterbeck (52.48) whole also doubled up in the 200m (22.68).
In the middle and distance events,
Etiam Torgbenu took second in the 800m in 1:57.33, while
Humed Nura (16:41.65) and
Whisper Shikwa (37:51.35) competed in the 5,000m and 10,000m events.
Amiri Goode had a busy afternoon competing in three events: 110m hurdles (15.88), long jump (19' 8.25") and shot put (28' 10.5").
The Eagles will have a weekend off before competing at the Morgan State Legacy on April 19-20.
