NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's
Emily Quintero has been named the MEAC Softball Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon. This is the first weekly honor of Quintero's career.
A freshman from Oceanside, Calif., Quintero went 3-for-5 with a run, three RBI and a double in a win at North Carolina A&T, helping her own cause in the circle where she tossed 7.2 innings. Quintero tossed another inning against the Aggies the day prior.
Quintero is 2-0 with a 5.73 earned run average this season while hitting .500 (5-for-10) with two runs, a double and five RBI.
