NORFOLK, Va. – Former Coppin State women's basketball standout
Rashida Suber has been selected for induction into the MEAC Hall of Fame, it was announced by the conference office on Monday morning. The inductees will be officially enshrined during the week of 2025 MEAC Basketball Tournament.
Suber is just the seventh Eagles player or coach to go into the MEAC Hall of Fame, and the first since 2011 when Stephen Stewart (men's basketball) was inducted. She is the first Eagles women's basketball player to go into the Conference's Hall of Fame.
The five-member Class of 2025 consists of Suber, former Hampton/North Carolina A&T head women's basketball coach Patricia Cage-Bibbs, South Carolina State head football coach Oliver "Buddy" Pough, North Carolina A&T running back Tarik Cohen and Howard running back Harvey Reed.

"Induction into the MEAC Hall of Fame is the ultimate recognition of a player or coaches' incredible career, representing excellence, hard work, and dedication to their respective sport. Inductees are not only exceptional competitors but exemplify the values and history that make our conference great."
A native of Reading, Pa., Suber is Coppin State's all-time leading scorer with 1,865 career points and also ranks first in field goals (728), 3-pointers (245) and steals (307) as well as seventh in assists (272). As a sophomore, she helped a stingy Eagles defense lead all of NCAA Division I in field goal percentage defense (34.4) and rank seventh in scoring defense (53.5). As a junior she finished second in the Nation in 3-point field goals (105) and 3-point field goals per game (3.2). Suber is 11
th in MEAC history in points, fourth in 3-pointers and eighth in field goals.
The 2007 MEAC Player of the Year, Suber was a three-time First Team All-MEAC selection, a 2005 All-Rookie Team honoree and the 2006 MEAC Tournament Most Outstanding Performer. Suber led the Eagles to three NCAA Tournaments (2005, 2006 and 2008) as well as a WNIT appearance in 2007 where they defeated Saint Joseph's in the First Round.
During her four seasons, Coppin went a combined 92-37 overall with a 64-6 mark in MEAC play with undefeated conference records in both her sophomore and junior seasons. Following her collegiate career, she was invited to WNBA Camp and played professionally overseas. Suber is currently the head girls' basketball coach at Reading High School in Reading, Pa.
The MEAC Hall of Fame highlights former student-athletes, coaches, university and conference administrators, and notable contributors who have enriched the conference's legacy since its inception in 1970. Enshrinees are selected by an eight-person committee of administrators and member institution representatives.
The inaugural MEAC Hall of Fame class was inducted on May 29, 1981, during a 10
th anniversary banquet in Greensboro, N.C. Since its establishment, the MEAC Hall of Fame has enshrined 173 people, including the Class of 2024.
