Women’s Hoops Hires Tolu Omokore as Director of Basketball Operations/Player Development

BALTIMORE – Coppin State's women's basketball team has finalized its coaching staff as head coach Jermaine Woods announced the hiring of Tolulope 'Tolu' Omokore as its Director of Basketball Operations and Player Development on Monday.
 
"I'm ecstatic to finish my staff with the addition of Tolu," said Woods. "Along with overseeing the daily logistics of the program, she will focus on the mental development of our student-athletes. Tolu is a former player and has a passion for assisting young people develop on and off the court.  She brings excitement and energy to our program."
 
Born in Nigeria, Tolu was raised in Maryland and led Eleanor Roosevelt High School to a pair of State Championships before receiving a scholarship to attend the University of Central Florida. Omokore played in 86 games over three seasons for the Knights, averaging nearly five points and five rebounds in her career.  During the 2016-17 season, she put up a career-high 7.4 points and 6.2 rebounds.
 
Omokore also interned with the UCF athletic department during her tenure while serving in various capacities with the Orlando Magic, NBA and Black Women in Sport Foundation.
 
In the Devos Sport Business Management program at UCF, she earned her MBA and MSBM in 2020 after earning a bachelor's degree in human sciences and a minor in sports business management in 2019.
