NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's
James Bell has been named the MEAC Men's Track & Field Athlete of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Wednesday morning. This is the first time that Bell has been awarded a weekly honor by the MEAC.
A junior from Newark, N.J., Bell won the high jump at the NSU Invitational last weekend, matching his MEAC-best mark in the event by clearing 2.02 meters (6 feet, 7.5 inches). Bell had previously cleared that height at the South Florida Invitational on April 7-8 after winning the Towson Open the previous weekend at 2.01 meters.
The Eagles return to the track on Saturday, April 22 for the Morgan State Legacy before heading to the 127
th Penn Relays on April 27-29.
