BALTIMORE - After a big 6-1 victory over Howard on Thursday, the Eagles look to pick up some more wins as they travel to the conference foe Delaware State University. After defeating the Bison, the Eagles sit at 5-23 on the season and 2-10 in Mideastern Athletic Conference play.

Focusing on the Eagles
Last weekend, freshman
Seryna Esparza led the Eagles with six hits, an RBI, and a double and she followed with a pair of hits and a two-run homer against Howard. On the season, Esparza leads the Eagles with a .386 batting average, .543 slugging percentage, 27 hits, and an on-base percentage of .456. The freshman first baseman also a team-high two home runs and five doubles while recording a .974 fielding percentage.

On the rubber, the Eagles are led by Junior
Vanessa Carrizosa. She has recorded all five of the Eagles wins this season and has pitched 99.0 innings which is more than half of the Eagles innings. Carrizosa holds a 3.89 ERA, a 1.39 WHIP, and holds opponents to a .293 batting average.

Brissa Alvarado is the school's all-time leader in walks with 78, 16 of which have come this season. Alvarado also ranks 9
th in hits with 112, sixth in doubles and also top 10 in batting average with a .314 average. This season Alvarado holds a .273 batting average, which is second on the team, and has 21 hits.

Looking in on the Hornets
The Hornets of Delaware State hold a 6-22 record with a 3-13 record in MEAC play. They opened their season with two wins at Agnes Scott College before winning three games in a row from March 15 to March 18.

The Hornets are led at the plate by junior outfielder
Uxua Modrego Lopez. Lopez holds a .342 batting average and a 1.073 OPS in 73 at bats. Her team leading OPS also has her ranked 3
rd in the MEAC. She leads the Hornets with 25 hits and 16 RBIs this season. On the base paths, Lopez is a perfect 6-for-6 on stolen bases.

Madelyn Edwards with a team low 4.01 ERA. Edwards also has a team low 1.65 WHIP and holds opponents to a .323 batting average. Sydney Hoffman has two wins on the season and has struck out a team high 28 batters in her 71.0 innings pitched.
