Team Gold Takes 2-0 Fall Series Lead; Holds on to 5-4 Win Over Team Navy

TEAM GOLD PITCHING STARS:

Juco transfer Reagan Rivera pitched two shutout innings to record the save with a pair of strikeouts while allowing no hits. He also picked off a baserunner.

TEAM GOLD OFFENSIVE STARS:

Juco transfer Kai Holm lined out to centerfield, singled while also scoring and stealing two bases.
Transfer Daniel Moore flied out to deep centerfield, singled and scored while recording a sacrifice fly to score Kai Holm with the tying run.
Graduate student Ricky Jones doubled in the first two runs in the first, scoring Moore and Brett Griggs, while producing a long sacrifice fly to left to record his third RBI of the afternoon.

TEAM NAVY OFFENSIVE STARS:

Senior Anthony DiVittorio doubled to right field in the fourth to score the second run, while also scoring himself.
Senior Noah Murciano singled to left, plating a run in the fourth and also scored a run.
Also recording hits were transfer Victor Alongi, freshman Chris Marte, sophomore Bryce Thompson and sophomore Angel Colon who recorded an RBI on an infield single.

Next up for Coppin State is a scrimmage at CCBC Catonsville at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, October 4.
