NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's
Noxroy Wright has been named the MEAC Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon. This is the first weekly honor of Wright's career.
A junior from Kingston, Jamaica, Wright won the 60m dash at the Carolina Challenge, hosted by the University of South Carolina, in a time of 6.79. His mark is the second-fastest in the MEAC this season. Wright also took fifth in he 200m dash, clocking a 21.30 to rank first in the conference.
Nationally, Wright ranks just outside the Top 50 in both events.
Wright and the Eagles return to the track this weekend at the Penn State National Open on January 27-28. The meet will air on B1G +.
